I was just browsing a local UK paper when I came across some very confusing real estate adverts. The first of these adverts stated “NEW PRICE” and the new price was actually lower than the old price. Surely this must be a mis-print I thought; as we all know, house prices go up not down! Yet in the same advert I spot that the vendor is offering to pay the stamp duty too.
Then, just a couple of pages later I spot a whole row of properties claiming to be reduced in price. Clearly the editor was having an off day when he looked over this copy.
