Now that Space Shuttle Atlantis has arrive at pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center, we get our first look at the NASA technician’s handywork in repairing the external tank insulation foam.

All of the white areas visible are where the new formable insulation has been applied. I believe the foam is of a different type/colour as it has slightly different properties to enable it to bond to the extant foam but don’t quote me on it!
