Archive for June, 2007

Sniffpetrol.com, the automotive equivalent of The Onion has decided to go blogging. Sniffpetrol had been having a few issues with keeping to their regular monthly schedule so have apparently decided to abandon it and update when they can be bothered.

So, here’s the plan. Pending a few technical bugs, Sniff Petrol will be back later this month in more of a blog format. Frankly, it’ll look pretty much the same as ever but the content will be more ad hoc and - hopefully - updated more regularly on a ‘little but often’ rather than a ’sodding great lump once a month’ basis.

You can try the ‘new-look’ out here or examine the original archives here.

NASA has announced launch windows for Space Shuttle Atlantis STS-117 to the ISS.

Shuttle Atlantis on pad

The window will open on the 8th of June at 23:37:59 ZULU which will be the first launch attempt. This launch window will remain open until the 12th of June. On the 12th of June, Altlantis will be stood down (with fuel offloaded) to allow for an Atlas-V Launch with classified payload from Cape Canaveral. The window for Atlantis will then re-open on the 17th of June.

Atlantis has been delayed since February due to hail damage to the external tank.
