The BBC have a story suggesting that an observed rise in dumped/stray pets in Cornwall is being caused by the ‘credit crunch’.

The implication is that due to the difficulties in obtaining credit, families are no longer able to afford to maintain pets.

Due to extortionate house prices and major fuel and food price inflation coupled with low wage inflation, the British are apparently completely dependent on credit to maintain their lifestyles.
