The union representing drivers for Hoyer UK and Suckling Transport have agreed to a deal on pay. This avoids a second weekend of strike action.

The drivers, who drove vehicles supplying Shell stations in the UK were reportedly seeking a 13.2% pay increase. It is not yet public what deal that has been reached with the union is worth.

Last weekends strike action lead to some petrol stations exhausting their stocks. Other privately owned stations were forced to increase prices as high as £1.99/litre in order to avoid stock exhaustion and the knock-on effect of losing passing shop trade. The Unite represented drivers had intended to stage a second weekend of industrial action this weekend but this action has now been called off.
